La Fête de la Musique, also known as the World Music Day is an international event which takes place in many countries around the world on June 21st.

The musical celebration of the first day of summer was originally a Parisian event. It took place for the first time in the French capital in 1982 and it’s now celebrating in more than 700 cities.

In France, during this evening, dozens of artists are on the streets and play all night long. From one street to another you can switch to totally different music styles and that’s what makes the originality of this event. It is a very festive meeting between people and artists of all backgrounds.

La Fête de la Musique is a very popular event in France, it gives the opportunity for professionals musicians and amateurs to meet their publics. This night is the best way to meet new people from every horizon and share a great outdoor evening with everybody.
This is a very appreciated moment for the French population to enjoy as much as possible the longest day of the year ; Indeed the sunset isn’t before 10:30pm and it marks the beginning of the warm days in the country.
