I have never learnt French before, which class should I register for?
If you have never learnt French before, the best option for you is to register for the Beginner class level 1. If you have done a bit of French and are not sure of your level, you can do a level test to determine your level. To do a level test, see question number 3.
I am not sure about my level, what should I do?
If you are not sure about your level in French, send an email to info@frenchstudio.sg with your contact number, email address and some information on your background (how much French you have done, why you are learning French etc). If needed, we will send you a level test to complete online to help us determine your level and the best class for you.
What are A1, A2, B1 etc levels ?
A1, A2 etc.. are levels of proficiency in an European language defined by the CEFR.
CEFR stands for the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It is a standardized system for evaluating language proficiency that is used across Europe and in many other parts of the world. The CEFR is divided into six levels of proficiency: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. These levels are based on the ability to perform certain tasks and to use the language in various contexts.
Note that a level can further be divided into sub-levels. For example, A1 can be split into 2 sub-levels: A1.1 and A1.2. That would mean completing A1.2 would lead to A1 level.
A1 and A2 are the beginner levels of proficiency in the CEFR. A1 indicates a basic level of proficiency, while A2 indicates a slightly higher level of proficiency. At these levels, a learner is able to understand and use simple phrases and sentences, and can communicate in a limited way on familiar topics. They may also be able to read and write short, simple texts.
For example, someone at the A1 level might be able to introduce themselves and ask basic questions, such as “What’s your name?” or “Where are you from?” They might also be able to follow simple instructions or understand basic information in a short text. At the A2 level, a learner might be able to carry on a simple conversation on familiar topics, express their opinions and describe their feelings, and understand the main points of short texts on familiar topics.

I need to arrange a make-up class; how do I proceed?
